Lahinch is a town midway up Ireland's west coast. It is small with a population of under 1,000. The town is famous and attracts many tourists for having one of the finest golf courses in the world (Lahinch Golf Club), its sandy beaches, as well as being an important surfing center. Part of the charm of the town is the compact downtown with many restaurants and pubs. You can walk anywhere in this town to anything you would want. Some of the surrounding towns, particularly Doolin, which is up the coast a few miles, would also make pleasant places to retire. Photo of seaside courtesy of Wikipedia and Vanderven.
