Great Place to Retire

My wife and I retired to Pecan Plantation 2 years ago and absolutely love it! We moved from Maryland and the cost of housing and living is literally HALF of what it was in Maryland. We bought a lovely 2200sf brick home on the golf course for $192K that was 10 years old. We added granite counter tops and stainless steel appliances to the huge kitchen and redid a little landscaping and the 3BR/2BA brick home is now perfect. We spend a lot of time on the covered porch overlooking the fairway and enjoying the brisk breeze that seems to always be there even on the really hot days. There are tons of clubs and activities, you can drive your golf cart on the streets within the gated community. You are close enough to the Dallas/Fort Worth area that you can get most anything you want without being too close. Granbury has most of the shopping and dining that you want on a regular basis. I highly recommend Pecan Plantation to anyone considering retiring to Texas.
