Mesa : Arizona

What Mesa is like for active adults
Mesa is a fast growing southern suburb of Phoenix, Arizona.  Originally founded by the Latter Day Saints (Mormons), about 10% of the population is Mormon today. This college town (Arizona State University, East and Mesa Community College) of 450,000 is located near the amazing Superstition Mountains.  It is the 3rd largest city in Arizona.

In our opinion Mesa is a lot more interesting than many of the other big Phoenix suburbs. It has more of a youthful and cosmopolitan feel.

There are many active adult communities in Mesa (see link at right). Property values in the Phoenix/Mesa Metro have been severely affected by the housing crisis, with average prices sliding from $225,000 in 2007 to the $130's by mid 2009.

There are 2 large malls in town that offer many attractions besides shopping, the Fiesta Mall and the newer Superstition Springs Center in East Mesa.
