What Newtown is like for active adults
Newtown is a very small town of about 1,800 people in western Connecticut, just east of Danbury on I 84.  Many of Newtown's residents are commuters to NYC, White Plains, Stamford, or Hartford.

R etirees are also moving to some of the active adult communities in the area. Home prices are expensive, with the median price at $400,000 in late 2009.

Although Newtown is an easy commute to many of the northeast prime employment locations, it is also quite rural in feel. Newtown has an exensive list of buildings that are on the list of historical places such as the Hattertown Historical District.
