| What Brunswick is like for active adults |
Brunswick is a beautiful small town near the southern coast of Maine. It is home to the elite Bowdoin College as well as the Bowdoin College Museum of Art. There are many homes and areas on the list of historic places because Brunswick was home to prosperous sea captains in its early history. Nearby Freeport is a shoppers' Mecca, and Bath and Lewiston are good sized towns. This part of the world is a big tourist destination, particularly in summer.
Some retirees choose to live in the beautiful town of Brunswick. There are also active adult and 55+ communities in this part of southern Maine. The average home price in Maine was $209,000 in late 2009, while in the nearby Portland Metro they were about $202,000. Prices in Brunswick are hard to find but probably are higher than the rest of the state. Homes closer to the water and those in historic districts will be much more. |
