| What Leisure Village is like for active adults |
Leisure Village is actually 3 different communities within Lakewood Township in southern New Jersey. There is the original Leisure Village (sometimes referred to as the Village of Seven Lakes) as well as Leisure Village East and Leisure Village West. Note that there there are other Leisure Villages elsewhere in the country (7 Lakes Golf & Tennis Club in Ft. Myers, FL used to be called Leisure Village, along with Leisure Villages in Illinois and Camarillo, CA). There are about 4400 people who live here, most of whom are 65 or over.
This community is known locally as the village of Seven Lakes, due to the 7 beautiful lakes scattered throughout. Enjoy the many amenities, including bus service, 2 clubhouses, 2 outdoor swimming pools, 9-hole executive golf course, bocce ball, shuffleboard courts and over 45 clubs & activities! Leisure Village is a gated community with 24-hour security. There is even a Kearny Federal Savings Bank,N.A. and a resale office on the premises.
All of our homes are Resale as this community was built approximately 45 years ago. All of the Homes are attached condominiums, and are equipped with electric baseboard heat and either central air or wall unit air conditioners. Prices for listings in late 2009 ranged from $49,000 to the low $200's, with many listings available in the low $100's.
Leisure Village is an adult retirement community. It is not a full care facility. We cannot accept daily living functions without assistance.
