What Orangeburg is like for active adults
Orangeburg was chosen an All-American city in 2005.

Located in central South Carolina this small town has several colleges (including top-rated Claflin University) and South Carolina University. It is known as the Garden City and has a lovely downtown.

A number of active adult communities are being built in the area, including Sportsman's Retreat, an equestrian-oriented community.

South Carolina enjoys a relatively low cost of living and Orangeburg is a bargain compared to many places. A mid-2007 search on Yahoo Real Estate found 10 homes in the MLS with a median asking price of $148,900 and 19 in the classifieds at $115,900.
