| What Roseville is like for active adults |
Roseville is a rapidly growing community in northern California about 20 miles from Sacramento. The population increased over 34% between 2000 and 2006 (to108,000). The town has spent tens of millions of dollars to redevelop its aging center. As a result it has attracted significant development and is now a shopping and commercial hub for the area. Roseville has an extremely ambitious master plan that is well along. The Vernon Streetscape Project is complete; its Historic District and Riverside Corridor Streetscape Projects will be next.
The infrastructure in place and planned has been very attractive for retirees, who are moving to the area in large numbers. Among other reasons, there is the potential to get a job here. Active adult communities (see link at top right) are also being created here as an alternative to the more expensive California coast. Average home prices declined to about $278,000 at the end of 2009. Photo of Galleria courtesy of and per license of Wikipedia and Justin Smith. |
