Chambersburg is an old town in extreme south-central Pennsylvania.  President Buchanan was born near here. The population is about 13,000 and holding steady.

Newsmax named Chambersburg one of the top 25 "Most Uniquely American Cities and Towns" in 2009. Average home values in 2009 were in the low to mid $100's. Chambersburg is in a  part of Pennsylvania with a rich history through colonial days to the Civil War and beyond.The downtown boasts the restored Capitol Theatre.  Chambersburg is home to Wilson College.

Cultural environment
Chambersburg boasts a historic Capitol Theatre in its downtown. The spectacular facility opened in 1927; it was renovated in 1996.  The theater has its original organ, a Moller Opus 4800, that was installed in 1926. The Cumberland Valley Theatre Organ Society is working with the community to restore the instrument.
