Oxnard : California

What Oxnard is like for active adults
Oxnard is an interesting place and one difficult to describe because it has so many facets. It is one of California's most important commercial harbors. It is home to 2 navy bases. It has some of the best surfing beaches around. Movie stars live here, and it is also home to a huge industrial base. Its location is between Santa Barbara and Los Angeles.

Oxnard College has about 3700 students here. There are a number of cultural institutions including the Carnegie Art Museum.

According the National Association of Realtors average home prices in Los Angeles and Long Beach metro were about $354,000 in 2008's 4th quarter, off more than 30% vs. previous year. Location and condition could produce enormous swings in that price range.
