Let's start by saying Lake Mary Florida is #4 on Money Magazine's Best Places to Live 2007 list. That list is aimed at a general, not a retirement, audience, but the basic appeal is here for all groups. Lake Mary, population 13,000, is particularly suited to people who want to retire to a place where family life and exposure to people of all ages is important. There are also plenty of jobs in town, in fact the population swells to 35,000 every day as commuters arrive to work. The many lakes in the area make for great recreational opportunities. A great golf course, Timacuan, runs right through the middle of town. Crime is low. The shopping and restaurants are plentiful. Photo of City Hall courtesy of Wikipedia and Tetraminoe.
