Healdsburg is a town of about 11,000 in the Sonoma County, not far north of Santa Rosa.  Tourists come here for the food and wine as well as to bicycle through the hills and vineyards.  three of the most important wine-producing regions (the Russian River, Dry Creek, and Alexander Valley) meet in Healdsburg. The town is centered on a 19th century plaza that provides an important focal point for tourists and locals alike. This is a bustling tourist town with many highly rated restaurants and top of the line shops. The area's wine is a big draw with vineyards such as Francis Ford Coppola's - which features a swimming pool as well as serious wine tasting. The Healdsburg Inn on the Plaza has been renovated and a big draw.

The town is in Sonoma County north of San Francisco and 15 miles from Santa Rosa. The terrain is rolling hills with many vineyards.  The climate is influenced by the nearby Pacific. Summers are dry and winters are wet. The average January temp is in the high 40s and the average July temp in the low 70s.


Restaurants & Cultural Scene

The Hand Fan Museum is the apex of local culture. Food is well represented with many first class restaurants including Bistro Ralph, Campo Fina, and Scopa. Copain Wines is one of the top local wineries.



The crime rate is less than half the national average.


Medical Facilities

Healdsburg District Hospital serves the region; there is a Kaiser Hospital in nearby Santa Rosa.



There is a small airport in Santa Rosa, but the nearest international airport is in San Francisco, about 80 miles away.
