Grayslake is a village of about 21,000 about 40 miles north of Chicago. It iis  home to the College of Lake County, the University Center of Lake County and the Lake County Fairgrounds.  There are several lakes in town including the largest, Grays Lake.  The village has several very nice parks including Central Park, an aquatic center, and a relatively new and large library building. There are 2 public golf courses, and 2 Metra stations with service to Milwaukee and Chicago. Photo of the downtown courtesy of Flickr and Richie Diesterheft
