Beverly, Massachusetts, is a suburb of Boston and located in Essex county, with a population of about 40,000 residents. The upscale community sits along the Massachusetts North Shore and considers itself to be the “Birthplace of America’s Navy” as the first ship for the U.S. military sailed out of its harbor in 1775. It also claims fame as once having the first and largest cotton mill in America, and as being the home of the country’s first Sunday school. Today the resort town is known as the “Garden City” and boasts beautiful parks, beaches, and yacht clubs. It is also a college town with Endicott College and Montserrat College of Art located here. Beverly lies along the Massachusetts Bay and the Beverly Harbor with rivers, lakes, and streams within the city as well, and Boston is less than 20 miles away.
