Norton is  a town of about 19,000 and contains the village of Norton Center. Norton is home to Wheaton College and the TPC of Boston Golf Tournament sponsored by Deutche Bank.  This PGA tournament is held just before Labor Day every year.  I 495 bisects the town. Those who would like a small college town, with a town green and not far from a large city (Boston),  would enjoy living here.  Wheaton College is a big part of the community and provides many cultural events and continuing education with its NICE program, an affilitate of Road Scholar.

Construction is the most common industy, follwed by education.

January's average temperature is 31 degrees, July's average is 73 degrees.  Norton gets approximately 40 inches of snow annually.


Restaurants & Cultural Scene

As a college town, Norton has restaurants that offers standard fare including pizza shops;  Wheaton college provides cultural opportunities and hots dozen of events throughout the year with art exhibitions, sports, concerts, and lectures, with nearly every event open to the public.



The crime rate is very low.

Medical Facilities

There is a medical facility located here, and Sturdy Memorial Hospital is about 5 miles away in Attleboro.



Greater Attleboro Transit Authority provides public bus transportaion; there are two regional airports within 35 miles of Norton: New Bedford Regional Airport and Theodore Francis Green Memorial State Airport; the nearest international airport is in Boston, about 35 miles away; the community is not considered to be walkable.
