What people are saying about Medford
Southern Oregon | |
Southern Oregon is Oregon’s best kept secret!I live in Grants Pass which is 30 miles just north of Medford. The weather is fantastic—warm dry summers that cool off in the evening, great for sitting out on the deck and sipping the local wine, whose industry has exploded in the last few years. Winters are wet but only 1/3 of the rainfall that northern parts of the state get. We have a banner in downtown Grants Pass that says “Its the Climate”. We are surrounded by 2 mountain ranges, and the pacific coast is a 90 minute drive. There are 3 rivers here great for rafting, fishing and boating. Marijuana is legal here, and the climate does provide perfect conditions for growing so you will see these “grows” or “farms” here as Oregon continues to develop regulations for this new industry. In my opinion the positives outweigh the negatives by far!

Medford local economy | |
After reading this article, I looked it up in Wikipedia and was surprised to learn: Medford\'s economy is driven primarily by the health care industry.[79] The two major medical centers in the city, Asante Rogue Regional Medical Center[80] and Providence Medford Medical Center, employ over 2,000 people. As Medford is also a retirement destination, assisted living and senior services have become an important part of the economy. This makes Medford a much more appealing retirement town. I plan to make a visit next year.
