What people are saying about Black Mountain

Trafficed downtown.
I recently visited Black Mountain, hoping it would be \'it.\' I was disappointed to find two highways (US highway 70 and NC 9)running through and intersecting in the middle of town. Definitely not a \'go to\' town for a walk. I haven\'t totally ruled it out, but it lacked the quaint, mountain atmosphere i was looking for. Additionally, the average weather listed above i just that an average. Average daytime temps in Black Mountain are more like mid-eighties. That said, the land around the town is stupendous - mountains, forests, beautiful!
