Sebring : Ohio

What It Is Like to Retire in Sebring

Sebring is a small town of about 4500 people in northeastern Ohio, about 25 miles from Akron. The town was founded by the Sebring family who developed it as a pottery town, from 200 acres of farmland. After more land was added and factories, stores and homes were built, and the pottery industry was the lifeline of the town, employing over 3,000 workers. Sebring was considered the pottery capital of the world in the early 1900's. A few pottery firms remain in the small town. The Sebring family built beautiful homes here.
