Every other Saturday, ten art galleries provide free food and music as they showcase new pieces. Festivals and yard sales are frequent here, including the Harbor Festival of the Arts.


Crime here is virtually non-existent.

Medical Facilities

Sutter Coast Health Center offers outpatient primary care and there is a VA clinic here. There is no hospital within Brookings, and the closest is 20 miles away.



There is a dial-and-ride program with a fare (though it is cut in half for those over sixty); Brookings is above average in walkability when compared to other communities, and is bike friendly.
