The area is considered to be the most dynamic sub-region in the Philippines and is a hub for information technology and Business Process Outsourcing services. There are several schools of higher education located here which include Catholic colleges, Universities and technology institutes. Santa Rosa is referred to as "Detroit City of the Philippines" as Toyota, Nissan and Mitsubishi and Santarosa Motor Works contribute to the country's automotive production. The Coca-Cola Company's largest plant in the Philippines is also located here. Many Business Process Outsourcing services are located here including Teletech and IBM.

Climate and Physical Environment

Santa Rosa's climate allows for temperatures to be in the in the 80's and above year-round. The rainy season includes the months of June through October.

Santa Rosa offers many types of restaurants serving a variety of cuisine. There are also shopping malls, an amusement park, and a museum.


Crime rate here is considered to be moderate, with most of the crime involving theft.

Medical Facilities

Santa Rosa Community Hospital is the primary public health center, although there are several private hospitals located here.


As in most urban areas in the Philippines, transportation is provided by jeepneys (buses) and the Santa Rosa railway.
