Strasburgis a town in southeastern Pennsylvania south of Lebanon. It was originally on the old Conestoga Road. It is often called "Train Town USA" because of the many railroad attractions in and around town, which include the Strasburg Rail Road and the Railroad Museum of Pennsylvania.  Located in Lancaster County and in Pennsylvania Dutch Country, much of the borough is listed as a historic district by the National Register of Historic Places.  The population of Strasburg was 2,872 in 2014. Strasburg is a very small town, that has cold winters with about 48 inches of snow.  It is a little isolated with larger towns like Harrisburg 40 miles away and Philadelphia 60 miles away.


Who Will Like Retirement in Strasburg

Strasburg is a small town in southeastern Pennsylvania surrounded by farmlands and in Amish country.  It is a historical town with many landmarks and a Heritage Society. There is a train museum, and a train ride that takes you through the countryside. The town also hosts festivals and events especially during the Christmas season.  And a town with its own creamery and ice cream shoppe may be a great place to retire.

Strasburg is 10 miles south of Lancaster in southeastern PA. January average temp is 30 and July average temp is in mid 70's. It averages about 48 inches of snow each winter.


Restaurants & Cultural Scene

Strasburg has several restaurants, a bed and breakfast, a train museum, and historical landmarks. It is also home to Choo Choo Barn, a 1700 square foot train display, and the Sight & Sound Theatre whichis the nation’s largest Christian theatre and one of the highest attended live theatres on the East Coast.



Crime rate is extremely low.

Medical Facilities

There is a hospital and medical facilities in Lancaster about 8 miles away.



Lancaster has a small airport about 8 miles away, and a larger airport is in Harrisburg 40 miles away.
