What it's Like to Retire in Anstruther

Anstruther and nearby St. Monans are two beautiful little fishing villages on the coast between Edinburgh and St. Andrews. Anstruther is the biggest of the two, and has a lovely commercial district along the harbor. With a population of 3,500, it is the largest community on the Firth of Forth's north-shore coastline known as the East Neuk. There are interesting shops and a great variety of seafood restaurants. The harbor is magnificent and so are the small homes and gardens in the village. The area is very popular with retirees and sailors. The volunteer rescue service has an interesting little shop and mini-museum with pictures of frightening rescues in the North Sea.
