Lexington is a town in central South Carolina with a 2012 population just over 19,000. Located west of Columbia, it is the county seat. The town has a vision plan for the future, which is an encouraging sign. The median household income at just under $60,000 is higher than the SC average. The population grew 66% between 2000 and 2009. It is very near Lake Murray, which offers many recreation possibilities. This is a part of SC that has had northerners move in to, some of whom enjoy it and some who do not. Photo of downtown Lexington courtesy of Wikipedia and HaloMasterMind.
