Simsbury | |
Simsbury is a nice small town outside of Hartford, but the only problem is that it is located in Connecticut which is out of control with our politicians spending like drunken sailors. Our new governor recently passed the highest tax increases in Connecticut history and our politicians have already run through all the money and are looking for more taxes to raise because they can\'t seem to give our money away fast enough. To be fair to your readers, and I know you are located here in Connecticut, you should tell them about all the hidden taxes that go along with living here. For example one of the highest gas taxes in the nation (gas is about $4.25 a gallon right now when it is only around $3.75 in much of the nation). Cigarette and liquor taxes are also one of the highest, if not the highest in the nation. Then there is the property tax on your car--similar to the property tax other states have on real estate. We are one of only a few states to have this tax, but it can be as high as $1,000 to $2,000 a year depending on the value of your car and the town you live in. Don\'t forget the 6.35% sales tax, the 5 to 7% income tax, and on and on. To sum it up, if you are going to move to Connecticut be prepared to be taxed to death. | |
