Stamford is  a busy commercial hub and residential city in the southwest corner of Connecticut, very near the New York border. If you have ever driven or taken the train from  New York City to Boston you almost had go through this wealthy town of over 125,000.   Many, many corporate headquarters are located here thanks to its easy access to New York City. It has some nice residential sections and a long coastline on Long Island Sound. Where to Retire in Stamford and Home Prices

There are many active adult communities in Stamford (see link at top right).
The National Association of Realtors reports the the median home sale price to be $416,000, in the Bridgeport-Stamford-Norwalk area during the 4th quarter of 2019. There is a very wide range in home prices depending on size and location.

Nice location on Long Island Sound, lots of sophisticated employment choices, an interesting downtown, and some good parks and recreational possibilities.

January's average temperature is about 30 degrees, with July's average at 74 degrees. Stamford gets about 30 inches of snow annually.

Stamford has public bus transportation and very good train service to NYC and Boston.
