Christiansburg is a small town in Virginia's southwestern hills of about 21,000 souls.  It is located just 5 miles from Virgina Polytechical University in nearby Blacksburg. There are several active adult communities in or near Christiansburg and nearby Blacksburg (see link at top right).  Median home sale prices in late 2014 was about $150,000, according to  Property taxes are low.

The Montgomery Museum & Lewis Miller Regional Art Center is in Christiansburg. The Starlite Drive-in is one of the few surviving drive-in theaters in Virginia
