Although it is quite rural in this part of Georgia it is an easy drive to Athens (University of Georgia) and Atlanta. Greensboro itself is a small town of about 3200 and the county seat of Green County. Many luxury resorts, developments, and golf courses have been built along the shores of Lake Oconee. So the area represents a mix of charming old southern town, big active communities, and a huge lake.
