All 50 State Retirement Guides Updated!

Category: Best Retirement Towns and States

November 12, 2016 — On a regular basis we update the thousands of pages at Topretirements. As part of that rotation we just updated the state retirement guides for every state in the union. The changes included tax changes all these states had in 2016 as well as other key information like housing prices. One thing we saw as we updated these guides is that home prices are on the rise in almost parts of the country – they are way up from what we reported one or two years ago.

Here is where you can find all of our State and Country Retirement Guides
Tax Friendliest States for Retirement

Do you have any suggestions for improving our State Retirement Guides? Do you find them useful? How are you researching which states to live in? Please add your Comments below.

  2. The link to all the State guides are at the bottom of the article. Click either on a state on the map or the names of the states on the right.

  3. We are working hard on updating all 50 of our State Retirement Guides with the latest home prices and tax info. Starting alphabetically with the States (Alabama) we are now through Montana. Less than 25 to go!

  6. As far as CT is concerned, not all of CT is connected to this great train system mentioned. I live in a town that used to have train service and we have a train station but service stopped probably in the early 1970’s. To get to a train station you would have to drive at least 20 miles to a larger town with train service. We have a bus system called the Hart bus, which I have never ridden on, but to get from my town to a larger town it would take a long time as the bus stops to let people on and off along the way. Public transportation needs improvement in CT. There has been talk for years on establishing train service back to my town but the cost would be extreme to replace the tracks. Probably not in my lifetime.
