Happy Veterans Day to all of our many Veterans! Thank you for serving our country. Youreditor often thinks back (for the most part fondly) on his days in the Army - in fact he went on active duty 45 years ago today. Wow, time moves on!

This resort area was originally chosen as a railroad destination for wealthy tourists. Formerly home to Ernest Hemingway, it is now a top ski and mountain resort of unbelievable beauty.

While they don't often get the attention they deserve, they do offer some of the best weather and affordability anywhere - especially as a place to retire with access to salt water beaches. Dunedin is an old sailing town with a spectacular setting on the west coast of Florida, just above Clearwater.  It boasts at least a mile of unobstructed views of Gulf beaches including Caladesi Island State Park, named the best public beach in America.
