    You wouldn't think any meeting of home builders would produce an optimistic group these days. But the nation's 50+ builders are resilient, and they are working hard to help you find your next home. Here is our exclusive conference report from this week's NAHB "Building for Boomers and Beyond" Symposium in Philadelphia.   What the Builders Think
     
     
    More and more online tools keep rolling out to make the purchase and evaluation of real estate easier. Check out the old standbys, plus the latest and greatest.  Hot: new online auction sites. 
     
    While there are those looking for a low tax state or others interested only in a sunny clime, many more buyers of active adult communities are interested in finding a community that is close to family and relatives. That's one of the important conclusions from the NAHB and Met Life study of 55+ home buyers
     

     Our thanks to the 55+ community developer who listed his property for Oro Valley. The area was new to us, and a keeper! The area has mountains, desert, 12 resorts, and proximity to Tucson and the University of Arizona. It attracts snowbirds, hitech workers, and retirees for its warm winters and great scenery. 


     
     
     
     This diverse town is in Georgia's extreme southeastern corner near Cumberland Island.  While it's close to the coast and gorgeous beaches, it also has its roots in the real world with a cute downtown and 2 nearby military bases.
