City of Canals - Venice, Florida

Like many towns in Florida, Venice started out as planned utopia - this one for retired railroad union workers. It has beautiful canals and a compact town center. From there you can stroll to a fabulous library, white sand beach, or an array of tennis courts. Outside of town there are dozens of active adult and 55+ communities to choose from.
