September 4. Welcome , to our weekly newsletter.  This issue features our annual list of the top 100 Active Adult Communities. Lots of surprises and new faces!
100 Most Popular Communities
This year's list of the most popular active communities has plenty of surprises, including the 41 communities new to the list.   There were 4 states that dominated the results - we bet you can't guess which ones they were!
Bentonville, AR
If you like the idea of retiring near the Jersey Shore but also want a real town too, you might consider Toms River, a regional center 46 miles north of Atlantic City. There are many active communities in the area, plus great beaches and fishing.  Your grandchildren won't mind visiting either.
Bentonville, AR
There is hope for the large number of people who would like to stay living in their current homes as long as possible.  Here are some great links to a PBS feature on the Village Movement. Plus, more links on the worst states for growing old and more. Thanks to Linda M for those links!

Aberdeen, SD
We've always felt a little bad that we have never featured a town in either Dakota in this weekly newsletter. Here is one worthy of mention, Aberdeen.  This town of 26,000 is well-known for the extensive amenities it provides its residents: 3 golf courses, a Fitness Center, Water Park, and lots more. Plus, no state income tax and a booming economy.
