Birders and nature enthusiasts flock to Mission for the World Birding Center headquarters at Bentsen State Park and the Texas Butterfly Festival. Mission and its near neighbor, McAllen, are in southeastern Texas and are home to many active adult communities. And yes, Texas is in the South!
